A perfect day in Anacapri - Fortini Coastal Walk / Lido Del Faro

May 2018, we spent three superb days in Capri Island. We decided to stay in the more tranquil & scenic part of the Island, Anacapri.

Our B&B was located one kilometer from the town's center and we loved it so much! But only stay there if you have a wonderful sense of direction as you have to manage all the small alleyways to find your way into the town's center! Thank goodness my husband has GPS neurons!

The name of the B&B is Il Giardino dell'Arte (Bed & Breakfast). It isn't fancy but the rooms are clean, large, have great WiFi and the grounds are set in magnificent gardens. Every evening, you get the most amazing sunset views overlooking the ocean. The breakfasts are fresh and plentiful and the owners are helpful and so very friendly!

Our amazing day started by catching the local bus to the blue grotto (‪Grotta Azzurra)‬. From there it was a ten minute walk to the beginning of the trail "Fortini Coastal Walk" or ‬"Sentiero dei Fortini".

This walk is very do-able but you need to make sure you have plenty of water, sunhats and good shoes. Also, try to do the walk early when it isn't too hot. The walk took us around 3 hours (and we took plenty of short breaks). I recommend starting the walk at the blue grotto (Grotta Azzurra) and walking in the direction of the lighthouse (Faro Di Punta Carena).

The first part of the walk has quite a lot of shade but in the last third, you are pretty exposed to the sun. The walk has gorgeous ocean views most of the way.... it is absolutely magnificent. When we finished our walk, we swam in the wonderful beach next to the lighhouse called Lido del Faro with all the locals. What a treat!!!! We then took the bus back to our hotel happy but exhausted.... it was a fantastic day!!

Enjoy!
